NEC PHILIPS UNIFIED SOLUTIONS

G-SERIES

  • industrial design
  • man-machine interface design

The PSTN G-Series of cordless phones developed for the Japanese / Dutch Corporation NEC Philips Unified Solutions consists of three phones all together. The G355 and the G955 models are designed particularly for the daily routines in the office. The rather restrained and clear layout of these products, which pays particular attention to details, leads to a versatile range of application. The intentionally reduced dimension of the phones is founded in the request to obtain and combine comfortable telephoning with a high degree of mobility.

The i755 DECT set was designed for use on construction sites, warehouses and hospitals or other work places with a high risk of soiling or contact with fluids. As a consequent, the product semantics of this phone is mainly determined by the demands of a simple cleaning procedure and spray-waterproof quality according to IP-Classification 54. The design and the coloring with its sharp contrasts (housing vs overmold seals) analogically communicate a certain “tool-character” and the necessary toughness.
Consequently of the IP54 Classification demands (spray-waterproof and dustproof), the battery is charged by means of induction. An extra battery is placed in the docking station in order to allow uninterrupted readiness for use.
