For “Arcania – A Gothic Tale” – the fourth part of the popular RPG series “Gothic” – we were assigned as marketing brand consultants by the Austrian publisher JoWood.
From a graphical aspect this game genre is usually dominated by notorious stylistic elements of the fantasy genre as well as CGI graphics, and hardly any publisher has understood to brand its particular product with an independent identity. In this aspect, however, Arcania breaks the norm and treads its own path.
A process where the three-dimensionally designed logo plays a key part. The logo is designed, so different applications like key-visuals, website, game package etc., can always be re-implemented in changing contexts from a variable of perspectives. Thus, the logo fully utilizes the design potential of the game media and helps the product to remain within the interest and focus of the gaming community. Additionally, it promotes a high degree of identification which is an important issue for its target group.
