At the time when we developed the “Polaroid v35″ for the American trader Concord Camera, the market for 35mm analogue cameras was already doomed by the upcoming digital camera market. As a result, this product has minor relevance from a technical perspective. However, a particular design-related problem of the compact analogue camera era is still potent in today’s digital camera market: no distinction in product semantics and function range. This particular problem deserves some attention.

The fully-automated “Polaroid v35″ is, above all, characterized by a construction that carefully considers its target group as well as a high quality of material for this product segment. The aluminum frame enclosing the camera, which transcends the conventional quadrangular form, makes up the formal core of the concept. Additionally, the frame is an integrated part of an ingenious carrying system which allows for a range of carrying options.

A clear defined target market and the field of application is also heightened in regard to the development of the blister pack. Bright and flashy ranges of colors and a trimmed language of form determine the appearance of the blister packs.
